No power steering

Posted 10-30-2010 at 02:00 PM by 90supra
I have a 1990 Turbo Supra. I am having problems with power steering. The car sat for 2 weeks, was running fine prior to that, got in to drive and and it felt like there was no power steering. Replaced pump (drained and new fluid and cleaned tank and filter) .NO CHANGE, had rack rebuilt and new high pressure hose. NO CHANGE. Now I am going to start looking at the progressive power steering. Have not checked pump pressure. Nothing so far is working ….anybody have an ideas or suggestion!!!!!

When in doubt change it

Posted 10-29-2010 at 02:21 PM by Ranma
I am putting a new head on my car. The old one had a crack that leaked just enough oil to be annoying. Am changing out all of the hoses, rotor, cap, oil pressure sensor, etc.
I am pulling the Ford drive shaft and replacing it with a reconditioned proper 2 piece shaft. Am changing out the gasket on the oil pan.
Have decided to change out the rear axles.
She should be real nice when finished, that is when the parts arrive.

Going to trade in my celica and get a supra

Posted 10-09-2010 at 01:57 PM by racer24
I've had a lot of fun with my celica, and enjoyed driving it for a year or soi. Now I've got bored with it and require a bit more bang for my buck.

I want to buy a supra and get the most bang for my buck. My budgets is $5000, with that money I can only get something from the 1990 era.. I know toyotas are sick, but I'm not sure driving around with a 20-21 year old car is going to be very good for my imagwe

90 7MGE 195K, rebuilt at 130K, auto tranny, clean interior, faded paint = $2500

More I read these posts in here, the more I realize I got myself a nice little money pit car. I figured since the engine was rebuilt with Toyota parts, it is a clean two owner car with a high ranking car fax, and ran a lot better than any other car I saw in the price range I was doing well. I fear all these stories on blown head gaskets and other issues.

The car runs pretty well at this time. No leaks that I can see, but of course four days after I bought it I noticed the power steering...
