Hi all,

I am after replacing all of the audio equipment in my 88 mk3 supra, does anyone out there have any ideas as to what size of speaker i can fit in the front doors and in the rear slots(next to the pull out parcel shelve i think) or does any one know of any quite easy solutions to fitting larger speakers, i have removed the cover on the door speakers and think they are about 4 inch, damn its gonna be hard to get good sound from such a small unit so wouldnt mind knowing if any of you guys have modded this part at all.

Thanks

Das

p.s. how do i get photos of my car on here lol

also, does anyone know what the easiest way of removing the head unit is, does the whole centre console part have to be removed or is there a way of just getting the head unit out without much hassle ?

Thanks again guys

oops, and girls

so an 88 supie... you'll have 4" speakers in the doors and in the rear
i'm currently trying to put in the 6" speaker surrounds from the 90-92 and see if it fits in mine so i can have some decent sound hehe
do get the head unit out you need to pull out the black surround

you have i think 6 screws in that surround you need to pull out... one just below the switches i.e hazards rear demister etc.. whichever ones you have... pull out the ashtray and theres 4 in there you need to get out
and there should be one just by your handbrake there somewhere... don't forget when you pull the surround... be careful as the dash likes to crack just at the bottom where it clips in... also you might find the plugs a bit short so unplug them from your surround ;)

:D photo's hehe

you need to find a site that hosts images for ya and they'll tell you what your website address is... when you upload pics it will be whatever the website name is i.e http://www.hostimage.com/yourwebsitename/y...picturename.jpg
when you have that sorted and have them uploaded just put [ i m g ] [ / i m g ] before and after the link without the spaces and pictures will show ;)

lemme know if i explained it easy enuf ;)

unless you want to build a custom enclosure in the doors, leave them as they are and run 4's in them, or try and track down the 5 1/4" ones from the facelift interior. the box design for the fronts and rears sounds a lot better than running the speakers unenclosed. i've tried this before, running 4"s in the box sounds better than running 6"s free air.
