I have seen people recommending Alpine brand speakers. I was wondering if the Alpine SPS-400 (4") speakers will fit into the doors of the 1986.5 - 1990 MKIII's. Also, will any 4" speakers fit properly? If anyone has used the SPS-400's, I would like to hear your opinions on them.

I put 4 4" Boston Acoustics in mine, and they fit perfectly. Alpine is a great brand. Get the right wattage though.

What about the rear shelf mounted speakers? Are there replacement available that fit that weird ass application??? Are you saying you put 4" speakers in the back speaker enclosures? Thanks
