Wow, can't believe that someone hasn't come up with a solution for this problem yet. I have the same problem with my 85 and it is getting worse. Cmon, somebody has to have found something that solves this permanently!

Oh for the love of.... well... whatever...
Download the wiring diagrams and PROPERLY and COMPLETELY remove the system..... that or just fix it. It's OLD hardware... and it wears out... why is that so amazing??!?
