Default Bomex Whale Tail on a stock MKIII?

Anybody have any opinions/360* pictures of how this might look? I'm tempted to buy one, seeing as I'm a very.... "spirited" driver. Especially around corners.

I am putting a whale tail on my 88 MKIII. Its the one Shine Auto Projects sells (doing fibreglass with mine). Going to try it and see. I doubt it will have any dramatic aerodynamic effects and am using it solely for aesthetics.

If you want a pic afterwards, I can post.. but that wont be for 3-4 weeks. Or you could pop over to Shine Auto and see their example.

Yeah, I don't have any wing at all right now and I figured it'd give a bit more down force than the stock wings. If you could let me know how well the one from Shine fits and if it feels reasonably durable or not, I'd appreciate it. - Thanks

Will do, the front bumper just went on .. and looks very nice. However.. I would have bought it in Carbon fiber now that I see it on the car, simply for extra strength. The tail will probably be on next week. It has a hole for the antennae and sits solely on the hatch (single piece). It also has a little groove for the windshield wiper. Looks strong enough to survive, but I will be using 3M tape in certain places where I think rocks will hit as well as some rubber compounds in non visible areas that are prone to road damage (not on the tail though).

Why is the shipping $125 for the wing only? It can't possibly weigh that much.

Nothing to do with weight.. size only.

Its a flat rate (although.. I am not the one to answer this..)

Thats just what I know of from getting mine. Its a big box.. weighs nothing.

I guess I'll just have to live with the preposterous price, then. Don't forget to post pics when you get your's on, though. I wanna see how it looks (Your car, specifically).

Mine is on the car right now, My only real complaint (not really a complaint because I dont see a way to do it better without a LOT of modification) is the antenna hole is not what I would call ideal. If I had to do it over, I would do an antenna delete first and then get one without the hole (mine is Shine auto mind you, not Bomex)

Ending up having to put spacers under the front of the whale tale to keep it from hitting the quarters while driving.

This is mine so far (just the mockup, the car wont be finished until Mid-October now.. adding too many peices.. lol)
I just got the Kouki 89+ tail lights in from Japan.. 4 day shipping time.. woot! Now.. why does it take 2-3 weeks to get something from the U.S.???
