isn't the power potential much greater for the 7m? they are both 3 litres but the 7m is stronger..
plus parts are much easier to get for 7m than 6m.. and the wiring harness really isn't that big of a deal, its soldering 30 or so connections, cant think of the exact number off my head.

For those not great with wiring, 30 or so connections is like brain surgery.
![]() The 6m is pretty much drop in. You may have to change intakes out if you have emissions testing in your area. Mark

I'm a new member to this forum. I have a 1985 Supra with the 5MGE engine. So you're saying that the 6MGE is a no brainer to swap out? I'm OK right now, but mine does have 287,000+ miles on it, and if I need to swap out I was thinking of goung with the 7MGE. Is it only a matter of the harness for this engine? That would seem the best way to go if that's the case.
