Transmission swap
Hey everyone! I was just curious. Is it possible to swap out a 5-speed transmission on an MKII for a 6-speed transmission on one of the MKIVs. Since the MKIVs were still using the 5-speed transmission for the non-turbo models it seems like this would be possible but I am not really sure. Anybody have any information. Obviously i would also need to switch out the shifter assembly.

Unless your doing the motor swap aswell...No.. sorry..The J series motors in the MK4's have a different bellhousing mounting locations than the M series motor in your MK2..You would have a custom bellhousing for it..Im willing to bet there is a company out there that makes one though..There is a company in Austrailia that makes a bellhousing to mate a 1 or 3uzfe V8 to the R154 out of the MK3 so they might make one for your app aswell..
