Quick newb gauge cluster question
Alright here's a quick one, I just want to know if the gauge cluster is interchangeable with other years, All the gauges seem to be in working order it's not a quick fix for a broken speedo or something like that, but this thing is in horrible condition like someone kicked it down the street, and it's very dim. I know I can find same replacement in good condition, but of course I would rather swap it out with a cluster that has a speedometer that goes over 85 mph So if someone could tell me what other years I can swap it with I'd appreciate that. Thank you.
Oh yes I almost forgot, the my car is a bone stock 83 Celica Supra with the 5M-GE 2.8L engine with an Automatic transmission=] |

Most supras from 84-85 have the 130mph speedo.. I think some celica GTS's also did..

Thanks! Is it just a simple swap? No modifications? I've had cars in the past have certain years where the cluster looked almost the exact same but required a bit of modification to fit it in and work right, and then some that are as simple as plug the new one in and go, I'm hoping this is the case. Thanks again. =]

Yep just a simple plug and play..I swapped mine out for one out of a 85 supra and mine is an 83 also.. The automatic clusters have a set of lights that are for the performance and regular shifting..It wont matter except you will have some lights on the cluster that dont work and that would be for just and automatic tranny but still works with the manual tranny too..
