Thumbs down 85 5 MGE leaks oil

I had our 85 5 MGE engine rebuilt but it still leaks oil. I think it is leaking between the cam shaft housing and the head on the exhaust side of the motor.

Can I remove the cam shaft housing and replace the gasket with out removing the head? Do I need to readjust the valve lifters? What other precautions do I need to be aware of?

I know how to keep the timing correct as I have replaced the head before and put all the bolts back in their original places.
