1985 Supra Alarm? or Neutral Safey Switch?
I just picked up a '85 supra and have been bangin away on it for a couple weeks just getting it fixed up a bit. Problem is now, all of a sudden, I am locked out of the starter. No clicks or anything.
I tried to just unplug the alarm behind the drivers rear seat panel and it didn't help. I'm looking into the neutral safety switch and want to know a quick way to bypass the switch just to test. I've been reading this forum over and over and haven't found a definitive answer yet. I see two wire plugs coming from the Neutral safety switch up to the engine compartment. One with three wires and one with six wires. Looks like the three wires are from the ignition down to the switch and the six are pins for each possible setting on the tranny. I'm stuck thinking it has to do with the alarm, but I can't rule out the neutral safety switch till I try to bypass it. Also, when I got the car the alarm would go off any and every time you opened a door and wouldn't stop when the ignition was turned on. So I know it was acting funny already. Thoughts...miracles....guidance? Thanks |
