Hello,
I know this topic has been covered, but I'm still stumped. Replaced my 5ME with a 6MGE, and the engine cranks but not spark while cranking. Checked all the voltages as per the manual, and all OK. As I release the starter, the engine sort of kicked over. I had a spare dissy and connected it to the igniter, and with the coil lead out, I could get spark. For some reason I can't get spark while cranking, but get spark with the ignition on. I suspect that I could get the car to run by push starting it, but would prefer to get it started via the starter motor first. Checked all the earths. Could it be igniter ? Voltage drops to 9v while cranking. Any idea's/suggestions would be appreciated. Paul |
