83 mk ii
good morning everyone,
I just picked up an 83 supra with the mk II in it...5m-ge motor was told had a bad head gasket, but has no coolant in oil and very little oil in the coolant.. there is oil all around the front of the motor,up on the hood and in the top of the engine between the cam housings where the plugs are located. could there be another cause of this oil in the coolant or is it the all dreaded head gasket. trying to locate a radiator psi tester today to check that part of it. any help is appreciated thanks Last edited by racing69man; 11-24-2013 at 03:15 PM. Unless I'm forgetting something, there are no other locations on the engine where oil could enter the cooling circuit barring a more extreme issue such as a cracked head or block. The exterior leaks are a different problem... Often just bad valve cover seals and/or cam, crank, oil pump seals.

Get a compression test. Depending on milage, it may be time for a rebuild.
