82 Supra No Power/Backfiring
Have an 82 supra my son got from his grandmother that had been sitting for about 10 years. Replaced plugs, fluids, fuel filter and it was not accellerating well and would die occasionally. Smelt exhaust so thought it might be a leak messing with the O2 senser. A dealer replaced that and the catalytic converter and exhaust system. Ran OK for a while.
Recently it started cutting out when I'd accellerate (at about 30 mph) and it got worse and started backfiring when I push the gas to the floor. Checked the timing tonight and it is fine. My book says to check the EGR valve. Any other suggestions? New member. Thanks in advance for the help! |
