Red face Mk2 Tranny Conversion

Hey all, I'm another n00bie with an Mk2 Supra, but I love that little devil car , as defunct as the engine is.

Speaking of which, the car is an 84' with your typical 5mGE Engine and automatic (or auto-tradgic) tranny, which I'm looking to take both out and swap for something different.
What kinda parts does a person need to take out an 84' tranny and turn it manual, is there a list I could get? Also, if I put in a 7mgte into the Supra will I need a different kind of Tranny instead of a rebuilt stock?

On a sidenote I aspire to get a 7mgte Money isn't the object so much as finding someone capable of doing JDM works in my town, because I don't feel advanced enough to swap the 7m for the 5m myself, which makes me think that a 6m may just be better for me at this time... unless somebody knows a good supra mechanic in the edge of texas/new mexico area. WAY edge of Texas. Any ideas? I'll appreciate it!

Since I sold the parts for this already, I would know (although the parts I sold were for the MKIII).

5 Speed tranny
Bellhousing with inspection plates
Clutch fork
Gear shifter
(on the MKIII, you need to change the first propeller shaft, not sure about the MKII)
Clutch pedal
Brake pedal
Clutch master cylinder
Clutch hard and soft line (all that go to the slave cylinder)
Clutch slave cylinder
Flywheel
(on the MKIII, you need the engine block to transmission "wings", not sure about the MKII)

Things you may buy yourself since you have it all apart
Clutch
Throw out bearing
Pressure plate

Alright, I'm filing all of this away then! Thanks for the response.

With the parts that I can buy seperate, the clutch plate and the like, should I get performance parts for those?

Also, for a 6m or 7mgte engine, should I buy a rebuilt stock tranny for the mkII, or should I get a stock engine from an mkIII, or what kinda of tranny do you recommend?

well... first let me said that... do you want to keep your 5mge motor and just do the automatic to 5speed convertion... or gonna swapt the motor to the 7m. if you keep the 5mge motor i recomand you to keep the stock 5m tranny. you can use the 7mge tranny's also... that will fit to... but all you need is what that guy just said... but anyway... if i were you i will go for the 5mge with the 5mge 5speed instead of getting other mk3 part involve. another thing you can have a good shifting is... by using the mk3 tranny shifter on the 6mge tranny tho.. it give you a good shifter tho... smooth... shift... hope this work for you... and hope i not confuse you.... sorry i just got baack to supra forum here... its been awhile i havent been on....

It's quite okay, I appreciate any help I can get. So a mk3 tranny will be smoother? I'm a little more interesting of functionality than a smooth tranny at this point, I want somtehing to work, and to last a while, not to mention I'll be brand new at manual (told ya'all I was a noob). I don't think I have the know how to snap an mkIII tranny in there, because I know there will be some fabricating involved so I'm thinking just a rebuilt stock.
