what celica do you have exactly? im not sure on their body codes. if its rwd, and the engine will fit physically (its not to long), it shouldnt be all that hard to convert. just have to make/get made custom engine mounts and maybe redo the trans cross member. and if the driveshaft should fit, but if it doesnt it doesnt cost a lot to get a new u joint put on it and have it shortened. any automotive machine shop should be able to do that. If its an automatic its easier, but if its a stick youll have to get the clutch master cylinder or linkage and pedal from the 5m car. also the speedometer might not work with a new transmission, so you may have to find one of those, and the shifter might come out in the wrong place so itll feel weird and u may haev to modify the interior.

well... first what year is the celica. is it the celica gt n back wheel drive or is it the front wheel drive celica. especially what year is the celica. cause i got a '76 celica gt with the 7mgte motor on it. and it fit perfectly.... so if you can get the celica around that year sure fit the 5,6,7m on it. it sure fit perfectly no proble. but need to work on the drive train little bit.

You will have to relocate the radiator to the front of the support for it to fit..The RA65 uses the same suspension,tranny,etc..Except that it has a shorter wheelbase and some came with solid rear end not the IRS..So the 5MGE will fit just little mods like the radiator, motormounts from a supra,ECU,all sensors and the MAF plus the harness..So if your friend goes through with it just get the engine, tranny, driveshaft and everything else and your in buisness..If you have a solid rear axle you wont be able to use the driveshaft..On your friend he will have to do alot..Fab custom motor mounts, custom exhaust, custom tranny crossmember, custom driveshaft,etc,etc,etc....Wow the work...
P.S. dont save for a MKIII they are PIGS...
