Just got an 85 celica supra!
Now what? Any cool somewhat cheap mods i can do to make it faster?
|
I made an intake system out of PVC and a conie filter. Wish I would have taken a pic. Looked awsome. Drilled hole in the side for sensor. Worked great! Didnt dyno it but but I could actually feel the difference which is rare IMO for a non CAI (filter sat where original airbox is located). Sounded freakin wicked too. I think that stock rectangular intake tube is way too restrictive especially with the ribbed texture inside. The smooth PVC definitely improved airflow. Just an idea. It was either 3" or 2.5" PVC (cant remember) and fit under hood no prob

hmm. I might have to find out some more info on how to make but thanks for the idea.

The PVC idea is a good idea unless you want to pay $150 for a custom one..You can also have someone weld up some 3" exhaust pipe to recreate the bends of the stock one..Just delete the silencer canister and weld in some bungs for the the vacume lines and use an open type cone air filter..There is also a mod you will have to do to the MAF to keep the CE light from coming on..The reason why it comes on is because with the increased air flow you will be running lean..The MAF mod will increase the fuel flow to the motor and increase throttle response and acceleration.. Here is a link for the mod..

I'll deffinently look into that. I can get the tubing and a have a bender and a welder so i can just fabricate it myself. It'll be sweeeeeeeeet.
