Im not sure if your asking but the diffrence between the the celica supra and the supra is this.
The diffrence is markI and MarkII are celica supras markIII and markIV are regular supras MarkI is from years 1979-1981 MarkII is from years 1982-1986.5 MarkIII is from years 1986.5-1992 MarkIV is from years 1993-1998 (Japan went up to 2002) so from 1979-1986.5 are toyota celica supra and then supra branched away from celica in 1986.5 and became just supra |

I have an '82 celica Supra. This is a year or so before the split. The MkIIs all started as the L-type and P-type. L-for luxury with all the spiffy bells and wistles like an all digital dash and automatic trans. The P-type was performance with a wider stance and a slightly higher horsepower rating. P-types also had flares and the rear hatch sun shade.
Later the distinction was in the face most obviously. Instead of the longer snout it had the clipped front ending rather abruptly, although it still had the flip lights. Everything behind that was cosmetically the same. At some point the Celica went it's own way with a smaller body; Trunk instead of hatch-back and different engine. There is a site with the supra history and atleast that part of the celica story. I'll find it and try to post a link.

If you look at pics of the lets say 82-85 celica and the supra you will see some differentses but take notice of the back of the car it looks like a celica but from the front it does not, The celicasupra has a longer snout on it than the regular celica. I have had lots of little rice burners come up and want to race. See my celicasupra does not have the supra logo on the back so from behind it looks like a plain old 4 cyl. celica. untill thats all there looking at is the back side of the car. They have no chance in hell.
