runs 3-5 senconds and stalls

i have a 84 supra i6 it will start and runs for 3-5 seconds and stalls out. if i try to restart it will not start unless i put a little fuel in the efi manually. i think it is a fuel pump issue.what is the best way to test the pump, and are there any othercommon issues to this problem? any help is greatly appreciated!

Its most likely the fuel pump. Test the relays first before you go buying a new one. Might as well replace the fuel filter while you're at it.

what is the best method on testing the relay?

you can test the relay with a fluke, or a test light to the circuit,if u have one ava. you can loosen the banjo bolt in the engine bay, and then check too see if you have fuel coming out when the ignition switch is on. If neither of those works you can jump the relay, or just drop the tank IAW the maunal, make sure you drain the tank. You can test the pump when you pull it out by connecting the leads to the appropriate connections on the battery. I you do drop the tank, change the filter like was said earlier, and clean the tank as much as possible.

try to spray some starting fluid or some carburater cleaner to any open hose to the thorttle body and let someone start the car for you while you doing that.. and see if the car start or run while you spray the fluid... if you stop the fluid n a second later the car die again then i'm sure its your fuel pump...
