86.5 auto transmission removal HELP!!!
I am new to this forum but had this supra for 5 years it died on me 2 years ago and i just got a transmission to replace the bad one. I started to removal the old transmission i took out 2 hard line that was attached to the transmission, ?the shift linkage? (the 2 inch lever on the transmission that changes gear), 3 electrical connector, the metal cable and 7 bellhousing bolts. i am having trouble with the last bolt that hold the engine and the transmission together. it the one below the intake manifold and above the firewall. i dont want to buy the complete manuel to the car because im going to Texas Aircheck the car so please any diagrams and experience in transmission removal and installtion? anything would be very helpful thank you

Well, be glad there are a few places on line that have the entire Toyota Service book for the Supra. Here is one, it should have all the info you need, good luck!!

i was just looking at this, this seem to show me everything about the transmission but not how to remove it from the car or seperate it from the engine really

Is there any chance that you could get a few pictures of the problem bolt, that might help with giving advice.
|
many people use a bunch of extensions with a universal joint adapter and get to them from under the car

i took off all the bolts but know the transmission seem really loose but is not coming off any advice
|
you need to undo the torque converter bolts from the backside of the flex plate
|
haha thank you i just got it off. without the advice about the super long extension i never think i could get it off. now just got to put the other transmission on thank you very much all.

And Then?
Once you've gotten the transmission out how do you get it back in? It's pretty heavy and we're having a hard time getting it up in place, holding it and bolting it back on.
