I got a set of Yokohama AVS ES100's from tirerack.com about $92 a tire. Fronts are 225/50ZR 16.. Rears are 245/50ZR 16. I'm gonna go up to lightweight 17's soon when I get the money.

Lexus rims??

anyone know if the stock Lexus IS 300 rims will fit straight up to a 87 supra hub? also is the offset the same?

oo i run 255 falkens in the rear and 235 in the front.

they grip mad good, and theyre a harder compound so they dont wear out as fast as my tires tend to do (drifting)

What size rims are you running those tires on?

Japanese supra tt 07-23-2007 09:26 AM

17 inches yo

What width? I just ordered some 17x7's (yeah, I'm pooooor) and I'm trying to figure out what size tire would fit best. I'm thinking 215-225/45.

Japanese supra tt 07-23-2007 09:33 AM

the fronts are 17x8 and the rear are 17x9.

i just put some 215 federals on my front and they are flush with the lip of the wheel.

but if you wanted a little bit of a stretch, which looks nice, then 205s on a 17x7 would be sexy

Heh, no, not into the stretched look, nor the "I got a great deal so what if the tires are 4" wider than the rims" look. lol. I'm looking for something that'll be fairly flush, have a decent size contact pad, but won't have tons of sidewall flex when cornering hard. I figure with the small sidewall I shouldn't really notice any more slop in the sidewall than I do with 215's on my sawblades.

Japanese supra tt 07-23-2007 09:45 AM

well if the tires are slightly stretched then it would reduce sidewall flex =D

but yeah 215s fit my 17x8s flush, so for 17x7's id go a little less wide.

Bummer, so the great deal I could get is equal to:

Figures. Oh well, the rims aren't here yet and I don't have the cash for the tires anyway, so I'll have time to look around. ;)
