What to do? (upgrades)
Alright, as you know im pretty ree ree when it comes vehicles. Im doing my best to learn though...
Anyhow, im looking to upgrade my turbo, I know I have the original turbo on there (c26 right?), im looking to get some more boost cause im barely feeling anything from this turbo. How should I go about upgrading this bad boy. What do I need to do to other items under the engine? I've read here and there about head bolts and what not and I just had the head gasket replaced, do i need to do something with that? I was looking at the c26 upgrade off of the suprastore but i don't really know how much more that will do for me. Im looking at putting on either the HKS drager system or the blitz spec nur along with getting rid of the cats, and installing new downpipes/headers. Let me know what you think, and what i should do to get this thing rockin. Im tired of being beat out by civic si's!!!!! Thanks guys. This forum has been a big help. Jrew

Well if your going to get a bigger turbo and a bigger exhaust, i would get a boost controller, and there is a fuel management pack at suprastore. It comes with 550cc so you can boost higher and a new high flow fuel pump for higher boost. I know with no cats and 12psi you will be pretty close to 300hp.

12psi on a stock turbo. If he modifies it, then he will make more power will less boost. If he changes the whole turbo it will be a different animal and all bets are off. I know ddmcse is running over 300 wheel hp on a modded ct26 on 10psi with 3 inch exhaust, stock intercooler, stock injectors.
Ditch the cats and get a 3" downpipe. If you don't feel or hear anything your turbo is dead. My car eats stock civic si's all day. Notice there's no boost controller in those mods below. My car runs 8.5psi stock turbo no shimmed wastegate. Last edited by IHateHacks; 10-26-2007 at 09:44 PM. |
