Exclamation Two Issues: Front Brakes and Sporadic Vibration

Hi all, I've got two issues with the front end of my car, first; the front brakes in my car have squealed since the day I bought it, I put new calipers, pads, rotors, and all the necessary hardware on the day after I got it home a few months ago, and they are still squealing.
My father owned a MKI or II not sure, but he said that his brakes did the same thing, so he put silicone on the tabs that hold the pads in and it stopped the noise. I did that, and it stopped the noise for about a week, and now the brakes squeal louder then they did with the old parts were on it, as of now I have tried all that I can think of, I used caliper grease before the silicone but that just washed off.
I can't tell what is making the noise, Its got to me so much that I don't want to drive the car anymore, if anyone can suggest anything that would be great.

Now the second issue, yesterday I cleaned all the parts of my front brakes with brake cleaner and tried to put more silicone on the tabs that hold the pads in place, and it all went fine except for the squealing, but during the test drive I noticed a strange sound and vibration coming from the front suspension and steering rack.
The sound resembled a truck with tires to big for it, turning,.. that rubber against plastic/metal sound. But the difference is I only hear it when driving strait and when I cant hear it clearly, its like its trying not to be heard, I just went out for a short drive today and heard it again, but my engine was to loud to hear it and by the time I pushed the clutch pedal in the sound was gone.
When ever I hear this noise I can feel a very slight vibration in the steering wheel, as if it were a bad wheel bearing, but the rims were tight and didn't give as to hint a bad bearing, at this time I stumped, any help or info about this would help. Thanks.
