New supra owner (not running) here What to do next
I just got a 91 supra turbo with the head already off the block. the previous owner broke his arm right after taking the head off and was forced to sell. the car was supposedly only smoking oil at startup. The head needs a valve job and to be resurfaced.
I was told the block was fine and that it did not burn any oil except at startup but i wonder why then the previous owner took the head off as opposed to just doing the valve work with the head on the car. Maybe he just wanted to check everything or didnt want/know how to do valve work. anyway Ive been thinking for a while about how to tackle this project and just thought id ask the expert advise of some people that have experience with supras. Should i get the head work done and put it all back together and hope its good? should i pull the block out, take it all apart and plasti gauge everything before i put any money into it? what do you guys think? thanks |
