scheduled maintenance....
I am at the 90k mark on my supra. I was planning saving up and just going to the stealership for a good 100k mile checkup. The manual that i have only has scheduled maintenance up to 60k miles. Am i missing something?

Also, do they make a drop-in K&N filter for the 7MGE? Is it worth it to get that opposed to another filter?

Maintenance
Per the repair manual: "Maintenance services beyond 60,000 miles (96,000 km) should be performed at the same intervals shown in each maintenance schedule".

At 90K miles (60K + 30K), I would only replace the air filter, oil, and oil filter per the schedule at 30K.......assuming you did all the required stuff at 60K. You will note that the LSD oil change is recommended at 40K intervals so you might consider that if you didn't do it at 80K.

Sorry, LSD is the Limited Slip Differential (differential oil) on my '88.

http://www.toyota-supra.info/forums/...ead.php?t=8072 Request to the Members............... It would greatly help if you would take a few minutes to update your "profile". (click on USER CP, up top right) Info like 'where you live', and especially what car you have, like model, year, turbo or n/a, mods, etc. would help you get quicker help. I put mine in my 'signature' to speed up the replys from others. Thanks to all who do update, and more so to those who include the car info in their signature. |
Don't bring your car to the dealer, they will rape you. They will charge you $1000 to change the timing belt which is the biggest scheduled maintenance item on MK3's. You can do it yourself for $30, the cost of the timing belt from a dealer. Add $150 if you want to change the tensioner also, I highly recommend replacing it since it probably spins like an old roller skate and the dealer will not do it even for $1000.
Biggest 2 items are timing belt and fuel filter for scheduled maintenance. Unless you count the head gasket. |
