camshaft sensor
ok so my 88 turbo didnt start this morning and yes i live in BC canada but its not that cold where i live lol
anyway did the samething last yr and the shop told me it was my camshaft sensor they fiddled with it and it started again im just wondering if anyone has had this same problem at all???? |
I had this problem once in my 87 Turbo. The car turns over but does not start. It is loose CPS wiring or hard old wires that are giving you problems. The wires take on tons of heat and get old and brittle. My wires were loose.
|
so do i have to buy a wiring harness or what do i do to fix the problem?
|
It lies within the engine wiring harness or you will have to replace the small harness on the CPS which you will have to take the CPS apart or find a different CPS unit with wires that are not so brittle and hard.
Are your CPS wires hard and brittle? |
ya the wires on the cps are know to break up. like he said you can either replace the wires, splice at the breaks, or replace the whole unit. i have one that just needs a cap. if you want it i can sell it for a reasonable price, just shoot a pm
|
ok well its a loose connection so im going to have to look for one or maybe replace the wires as well but it runs now
|
alot of people will just replace the wires and splice onto the connector. if you dont feel comfortable with that, then just get a different one.
