Car Chokes
I have a 87 Supra. i have changed the plugs, wires, fuel filter, ait filter, put a boost controller on it . after market boost gauge, k&n filter, the engine is a import that has less than 30k on it. pluged most of the leaks. cleaned the throttle body, and i hear the turbo spool and it sucks air very loudly, but starts chokeing and starts to die in the process. and my boost gauge reads 0 the whole time. i could use any input and any help offered. i have a lot of money into this car and i want to finish it but i am at a loss on what to do.
Any one that lives in kansas and would offer help i would be very much abliged Matt |

sounds like a boost leak......check your intercooler piping clamps.. also check the plastic pipe that is hidden in the passengers front fender...

Also sounds like you have your boost controller set to high. When you put it in did you make sure that you connected the hoses off the wastegate the correct way. If you get them backwards then you will not get anything but the wastegate open all the time and no boost which sounds like what you have going on. Plus it is a good way to know something you added did it when it happened after you put the boost controller.

i would say you hit some high boost and blew off a pipe a good'n
you have a pipe "off" somewhere... 0 on the gauge means massive leak i assume it idles very bad and stalls all the time?

I agree with supra gurl. Does sound like a IC leak somewhere.
I had a guy I know blow off a coupler and this car completely shut off on him. And that was on a 1j
