NO HEAT!!!!! Help!!
 

I have a 87 turbo supra, with a few mods. i just fixed my BHG and now i have no heat. not even heat off the engine. i dont know where to start. it used to get nice and warm inside and now its nothing but cold air. please help me. what did i miss on the rebuild??

the thermostat could be stuck open
one of the lines could be pinched
the heater control could be broken
the heater core hose is not on right

a clogged heater core??
try checking those
i had the same problem b4
bcuz the idiot that sold me the car
did the headgasket job
and for sum reason decided to jus close the heater core
and plug the hose

Also try burping the car, I changed the radiator fluid a few weeks ago and now sometimes when the car idols for long enough it will blow cold air, then when I rev it up a little and the heat comes back because the warm water runs through the heater core.

To burp the car, park the car uphill with the engine on the high side, keep it running, open the rat cap, I wouldn't try to do this while the car is warm, the pressure will spray hot rat fluid all over. Keep filling the rat with fluid until it fills, it can take a long time for the air to get out, Ive burped my car two times now and a little air is still trapped. If you don't have a hill use a floor jack, or ramps. From what I understand the higher the front of the car the easier the air will escape. Hope this helps.

oh, and also is there any gurgling or waterfall sound on the dash when you rev the car?

if so, then you need to bleed the air out of the cooling system of your car

How did you get on? as I have the same problem. I was advised to turn the A/C on once a week during cold weather to keep it active which i did, but now have no hot air coming out at all...although engine getting hot normally, no overheating, any replies greatly appreciated!:(

Heater Core Check Procedure
 

On all the other cars i've owned and serviced at my shop, i've always checked the heater hoses. There will be one in and one out. If one is firm and the other isn't while the heat is commanded on, youve got a clogged heatercore.
thats the first and most times easiest check. After that, in my chevy's i always take the control panel off and check the wiring pigtails to see which ones have shorted out (usually just behind the switch). Thats chevy, but an easy check also.
After the easy checks, you'll want to check the valves which, on my mitsubishi's have been inline with the heater hoses. you may need an volt/ohm meter and the appropriate values for a functioning valve. it could also be a physical deficiency. you can take the valves out of the car and check them too.

Hi there,i have checked the heater core and the hoses and they are ok,and also the heater switch inside the car.I also put a new thermostat in as well,the next thing i was going to do was the inline valve on the heater hoses. thank you for your advice

vsv switch not working = no heat

Well after checking the hoses,the heater core,the heater swicth,change the thermostat, it was the valve stuck shut.I did what you said in the pictures and the valve opened,now the heater is working.thank you 4 your help.

i think i found the problem
 

well like a week after i first posted, the heat decided to start working again. but it would only work when i first started the car, if i started it then went and got gas or something the heat wouldnt work when i restarted it. as of 2 days ago im back to no heat. But, looking under the hood the other day i relized the heater control valve wasn't opening. so i manually pulled up on it and volla, heat. but... it wont stay open. when i let go it just closes back and its not easy to open. i messed with it for bout 1/2 hour but it wont stay open, and i have a blister on my finger. do i just need to replace that controle valve (crossed fingers) or is it something electronically telling it not to open. oh, and yea it does make that weird rushing water sound, and all this time i thought that sound was normal, lol. thanks in advance for your help guys.

i dont get the pictures, i already have a line running off the top of the heater control valve where is that supposed to go?

never mind i figured it out.
