exhaust for 88 na supra
do you need the cat converter for an 88 na supra and is 2 1/2 big enough pipe

I think all cars need the cat converter and all so that you can meet U.S. emission standards.

If you live in IL, I would look into emissions because Im pretty sure that it is if your car is 95 and older(or unless it has the OBD II computer found is some 94 and 95 cars) computer then Im pretty sure that you take it one more time and that is the last time. I also need to look into this because I saw a article on it awhile back this year. I think it started feb 1, 2007.
About the cats. You can get a high flow cat and still pass emissions and not loose HP or you can get a test pipe. I have one cat in my turbo supra and one test pipe but soon Im changing the DP so I will have no cats but im also be running premium gas. |
Read this, and if you don't leagally need the cat in your county, state, or country, then you can leave it off. The back pressure won't be altered enough to make a difference.

what i would do is i would call a local shop that does emissions testing and ask them if u need a cat or not.
