urgent

i was driving home last night and all of the sudden i heard a pop and the engine started to tick. i pulled in a gas station and i instantly threw up the hood. it sounded like a spark plug seal might have broke or something because it sounded like it was coming from under the plastic cover of the spark plug row. has anything like this ever happened to anybody else? i havnt gotten any time to look at it yet but i will post a reply on this thread about what i discover. hopefully its nothing bad.

One time the ceramic part broke on a plug while driving an 84 dodge colt. It didn't do any harm. I drove 20 miles to a parts store and put a new plug in.

Hopefully its not like the Trooper that threw the whole plug out the hole, stipping the threads in the head.

yeah i looked at it. the ceramic part on the electrode broke off inside the cylinder so no big hole in my block =]. so i dont know about that. and there was hella oil on the plugs when i pulled them out. i am replacing the valve cover gasket tomorrow morning and i think that should stop my oil leak. right? and i also bought new bosch platinum plugs for it. im just worried about the ceramic parts that broke off the plug inside the cylinder.

alot of ppl have problems with Bosch plugs. Just go to your local Autopart International and get a set of Denso's or NGK's. Autopart International dosent sell parts at retail prices so everything cheaper, they sell parts to garages and places like midas so they just deal with wholesale prices.
