My MECHANIC IS OING TO SWITCH MY REGULAR BLOCK THAT COMES STOCK WITH MY CAR FOR A SHORT BLOCK I NEED TO KNOW WHAT DIFFERENCE IS GOING TO BE I ASKED MY FRIEND BUT HE SAID THAT THERE WOULD A BE DIFFERENCE MORE TORQUE . a short block is a general term. it contains either stock or performance parts depending on the builder. a short block consists of; block, crank, rods, pistons, rings, bearings, freeze plugs and in some cases an oil pump. there is only a difference if they are changing components that do make a difference.

which pretty much means if all he is installing is a short block, it aint gonna run :D
