newb in need of help
hello, i have a question about a hissing sound on the left side of the engine.
When i walk up to listen to my engine, if i listen carefully on the left side it sounds like air is leaking out of one of the tubes, but im not sure if im just paranoid or there is a problem. im really new to cars in general, any advice would be great. thx |

if you look at the top left side of your engine compartment you will see a little unit on the firewall that looks like a round metal bulb thing with 1 small hose going to it and 2 larger coolant hoses going it it. Its the control for the heater in your car. Mine makes a really weird noise that sounds like a hiss when the heat is off, something in the electronics i think i have no idea what it is. Anyways, see if its comming from there, then turn your heater on and see if it still makes the noise, mine stops when the heater is on for some reason.
