slow crank when starting..
hey guys,
when i start my car (90 turbo) it seems kind of reluctant to turn over.. nothing too crucial- it starts every time, but it sounds really slow and drawn out.. definitely not healthy sounding. I just replaced the battery, and the problem still persists. The battery cables are looking pretty haggard, like someone has rewired them with a skinnier gauge wire some time in the past. I'm not sure if too thin of a wire would not allow for as many amps when starting or what.. I'm also thinking the starter itself maybe? Once the car is started, it's fine though. The alternator should be in good shape, since it does start every time, and the brightness of the headlights never dims.. I'm about to replace the plugs and wires some time this week to see if that helps. any advice would be appreciated! thanks, aaron |

YA sounds like a resistance issue.
That's pretty much what happens when stock cables get green and nasty on the inside. It isn't propperly pulling the plunger on the starter because the amps are being drug in slowly. |
