manual boost controller
Ok, so i installed a manual boost controller a while ago(and i have even tried installing it several different ways after friends suggested) and all it seems to do is eliminate the actuator, so the turbo just boosts all the way untill it hits fuel cut. I have even tried two different styles of boost controllers. can anyone possibly tell me exatly how youre supposed to hook it up, maybe some pictures would help as well.

tap the line that goes to the turbo and the wastegate actuator,
makes sure the boot controller is pointed and hooked up the right way if it still hits fuel cut, u need to adjust ur boost controller

i finally figured it out, and the boost controller does not work if you tap it to the line from turbo, you have to cap off the line that comes from the turbo, and hook it into a vacuum line from after the throttle body. or at least thats the only thing that worked for me.

Here's a DIY on it making boost controllers with a couple weak diagrams on vacuum routing:
http://www.gusmahon.org/html/boostcontrol.htm You can source vacuum from either the manifold or the turbo, sourcing from the turbo is the safer setup when you're not running a boost controller... it reduces surge, both heat and temp (this is of course not relevant when running any sort of boost controller). |
