Oil leak near CPS

Any ideas on how to stop this leak? Don't know much about this sort of thing and any insight would be appreciated it.

I would guess its due to a bad seal on the inside of the engine. Also after i drive her and she has been sitting there awhile ill pull off after she has had time to warm up and i will see slight smoking coming from this section as well.

I think thats just the oil burning off but would like to know for sure

A very common problem, the O ring needs replacing on the shaft of the CPS. Toyota O ring part # 90099-14018. You will need to remove the CPS unit, Instructions HERE

Just a few extra notes:
The power steering reservoir doesn’t need to be removed completely, just remove the bracket fixing bolts and pull it to one side to give access to removing the CPS unit. Once the unit is removed the O-ring just slides over the gear at the end, no need to disassemble the unit in any way.
Unfortunately you will need to remove the rad top hose to remove the cam covers and the small coolant hose near the CPS. What is important before removing the CPS is that the crankshaft is at top dead centre and the cam timing pulley’s are lined up with their markings on the rear cam cover. You can do this by looking through the oil filler hole and at the position of the cam, but I prefer to remove the cam cover just to make sure.
When refitting the unit make sure you line up the hole and the grove as stated in the instruction. One problem I did find is when you inset the CPS the gear engages with the gear on the camshaft which causes the CPS shaft to move, this is why you will need to check the timing when you have finished.

Looks like i will need a new tool, i dont think i have anything capable of moving the crank erm

No special tool required, just a socket spanner to turn over the engine using the crankshaft bolt. (turn clockwise) Not sure of the size around about 18 -22 at a guess.

Do you have to loosen the bolt to rotate the crank or will it just turn with a socket wrench on it?
