i recently took/cut off my muffler for now till i get a new one but i think it sounds good... ha. anyways after i took off the muffler i can really hear the turbo whistle. is that normal? because its very loud. anyways just a thought. anything would be great.

surprisingly no. i felt a gain. and i like it. i am boosting about 6.5 or 7 on my stock piecocrap gauge. so i went up in boost. i have two cats and a resignator so i think i have plenty of back pressure from them cats. but i get worse gas mileage. haha. thats a price i can handle... for now... ha

Back pressure is the LAST thing a turbo wants.

back pressure are more for N/As, turbo with less back pressure performs better.

Like evryone has pretty much said back pressure is not needed and turbos perform better when it has less. I would suggest leaving a slight amount but not too much is needed definitly not as muchas the N/A version.

the only reasons for an exhaust on a turbo, that i can think of: put exhaust fumes away from car, keeps noise down, keep stuff from getting into turbo. to point out though, i drove with only the turbo elbow for a while, then put the exhaust back on. im planing a 3" turbo back.
