Default things about to happen

a couple of my buddies who own a garage in big lake and i are going to install a boost controller and strait pipe my exhaust from the first cat back. is this a good idea with the exhaust? and how much and what kind of boost controller are any of you guys running? (looking for a cheaper one that will still work good) and we are also going to pull off the turbo and looking at it. i know GM manufactures superchargers with "bumps" in the intake and one of the guys i drive around with pulled it off and smoothed it out and went from 9 lbs of boost to about 12 by just smoothing out the intake to his supercharger. what does our intake and stuff look like to our turbos? and also how much should i boost with almost everything stock?

thanks guys,
mitch

The accordian hose heading into our turbo is of poor design, it makes the air more turbulent. I doubt replacing would increase your boost any just allow it to breathe a little easier.

Cooleeze Custom Performance sells one fore about 120 shipped but has a very long delay on it. Also 935 Motorsports Home Page has one for about the same price, however it doesnt looked to be the same quality.

Welcome to SupraSport.com ltd - We don't make the car, we make it faster! also sells the cooleeze pipe at a increased price but perhaps they have them in stock ready to ship.

ok. thanks a bunch for the info on the intake. i thought that accordion thing could make the air flow messed up and now its confirmed. ha. what do you guys thing about the straight piping from the first cat? is that a good idea?

The biggest restriction to flow i would say is the turbo elbow
BIC Performance Products check out that down pipe, if i remember right supposed to give aprox a 30hp gain.

They also have the test pipes to replace the 2nd cat if u want to go that route.

its true about the turbo elbow, but also removing the cats(if possible in your area)even the first cat makes a world of difference and gives you faster boost and and acceleration, and horsepower..

Well our cars came stock witha flanged cat system so it was easy to remove them and throw on a straight pipe however most people take them to have their cats replaced and the jerks at the shops usually cut and weld on a new one, thats what happened with both of mine, on my first supra i did not approve this and they did it anyway, I was highly upset.
