Kickdown Switch

Hey all, I've been having a problem with my automatic transmission recently. When on the road, if I decide to speed up, the transmission won't downshift gears even when the pedal is floored. In my repair manual it says its the "Kickdown Switch". Any suggestions on how to fix it?

i have the same problem on a 78 cutlass i have i was thinkin its the kickdown cable i plan on fixin it asn soon as the cold weathers over. you could take it to a shop im guessing it wouldnt cost to much
