Exhaust Indicates a miss
87 7mge. My car is driving me crazy, I love the supras, but mine is hard to keep on the road and keep puting mustangs in there place lol. But anyway my car when at Idle about 800-1000 RPM It missed but not enought to kill itself and you can only really tell by the exhuast, but thats not good enough for me I want it to run really smooth. At any other RPM It sounds fine and I have no loss of power. What do yall think it could be. BTW I have a different exhuast system could that throw off the A/F mixture. The exhaust also has a really strong gas smell.

Well there is a lot of questions to be asked here. If you smell gas then you are running rich. This could be caused by it actually missing and one of the cylinders just throwing the gas right back out of the exhaust. As for your exhaust it shouldnt throw off the A/F it will make a difference on HP though if you dont have enough back pressure. I would check you distributor cap rotor check the spark on the spark plug wires and check your plugs. If it is missing as bad as you say then when you pull out one of the plugs it should smell like raw gas. this would be your missing cylinder. If you havent replaced the wires or the cap and rotor I would just go ahead and do it. LOL I think I have a new cap sitting around I never got around to putting on my 7M before the swap they are only like 12 bucks. Also check your timeing with a light may be off but more than likely it is your plugs or wires or cap. My on 7M used to do that when I first got it. Or when I get a chance I could drop by Waco and help you out and we could go spank those Mustangs in my 1JZ beater lol they will never see it coming.
