Well with the fuel injection. If you're pumping the gas to get it started you may just be flooding it out and it all has to clear out to start after the fact.
You're going to have to be more specific before we can give you any real help. |
Yeah, typically a fueling problem. Either the cold start injector isn't doing it's job while cranking or the fuel rail is loosing too much pressure at rest or the engine bay is too hot and the fuel is vaporizing in the rail.
Does this occur all the time, only when cold or only when hot? The easiest thing to start with is pulling and cleaning the cold start injector. Is your car a turbo or N/A? |
thanks guys

by the way it is a turbo. and it starts in the cold sometimes and the hot sometimes. i dont notice a pattern.

Start with the CSI (cold start injector): MK3 TSRM On-Line

That's what I was thinking as well but didn't want propagandize bull shite.
|
thanks but my engine is a 7mgte. that diagram is for a 7mge. does it matter?

Take a look though the link I posted... it's got the info on both mixed throughout. Although, this circuit is the same from one to the next, just the locations of parts changes.

what is the condition of the wires connected to the cam position sensor ?
wires on 20+ year old supras get dried out and brittle if you had a cold start injector issue it would still start but it wouldn't start on the first attempt maybe the second or third it would be interesting to check if you are getting spark to the plugs when it won't start . i had an issue like this and it was related to mangled wires going to the CPS |
