I'm after some info on the 1zjgte conversion. I've heard little about it and would like any details. If anyone knows of a site that has details of the conversion that would be great.

Doing a 1.5jz conversion is really simple. All that it entails is swapping your 1j block with a 2j block. Kinda simple in relative terms. it's all bolt in I believe. Once you get the 2j block strapped down to all your 1j stuff (head, turbos etc) you should be able to swap motor mounts and drop in. It also raises your displacement from 2.5L to 3.0L. Another note, this can be done with either a NA or turbo 2J block, but make sure that you have an oil pan from a MKIV 2j (I don't know if the 1j pan will swap), as I have recently found out that there are several different cars that the 2jz is in (aristo, chaser, soarer, supra-to name what I know).

yeps ya knocked it on the head there

we used the 1jz sump, would appear identical to the 2j one cept the block we had is off a 2jzge so the sump didn't have the oil lines going back to it for the turbos

it was a fairly easy swap and the motor feels amazing afterward

yes i believe ur right :P

only thing i've gotta sort out now is the right fuel pressure at idle and under boost etc
one very small misfire only once but will dig into it and find out what caused it (unfortunately it could be a very many things but we'll find it )

like dirty fuel??? If it is only once..pfft.

Anyways back on topic, if you do end up going ahead with this little project and end up sourcing a 2JZ-GE bottom end, please remember to drill and tap and fit the oil squirters. They are there for a reason and should be put in. Also the conrods and crank are the same in the GTE and the GE version, so all you need is some fully sick pistons..MAHLE is the one to go for if you can get them. I believe that they have the contract for both Cosworth and JUN. So yeah cant go wrong. Sould be a bolt in swap..would make sense to source another 1JZ head so you can port it and stuff without having to be without the car for ages...then you can have everything bolted in no worries.
