Oil Pressure Sender!?
Okay, ive done some searching on here but I couldnt find what I was looking for.
Im about to pull the turbo and do a rebuild and while I have room im going to fix my PS leak and this damn oil pressure. OKAY what I know so far is; I tested my oil pressure and its fine. I have two gauges for oil pressure, the stock one in the gauge cluster and a aftermarket one installed by the previous owner. The stock one has never worked, and aftermarket gauge works but I have never got'n any readings from it. The needle just fluctuates eratically, so loud if I dont have my stereo on I can hear the needle hitting both sides of the gauge. The idiot who put the gauge on cut the wire harness connector for the Oil Pres. sender, so that shit is gone. And it looks like he used speaker wire(that tannish, goldish clear wire) to connect gauge to sender. The connect looks like a stock speaker hook up and its just jammed onto the sender wtf..lol Any one have a pic or can explain what the stock oil sender connector looks like (on the wiring harness) or show me your aftermarket re-wire Thanks EDIT: Also question, wiring harness over head and also to coil pack is shot. Im abou to re-wire all of that. Any specific wire I should use, like thickness, core material, etc etc. alrite preish |

Oh thats cool, yea i know where its at just wondering what in tar-nation hooks up to it thanks

It's a black thin wire with a black rectangular plastic cover, I think a normal spade connect should slide onto round brass terminal at the top, if the original is missing.

I looked at spade connectors and thier are two different ones. One looks like a screw connect like a grounding end, and other looks like a speaker hook up or connect to a bottom of a relay.
If it is hooked up correctly but still isnt working you think it is the sender or just a connection isssue? Thanks |
It's in the wiring mess dor the dizzy and the t-stat housing.
You connect those 3 and it has to be right there. |
the clip typically has a rubber boot that goes over top of the connection. i also believe the wire is slightly longer then the rest

Thats what im talking about. Problem is I do not have it. Picture would be nice :)
Used JDM engine was dropped into car. USDM wiring harness was kept so some adjustments had to be made to work with JDM motor. The connection was cut so its just a wire hanging there, no connector nothing. Instead, the after market gauge was hooked up. The connector on it now looks like this:http://www.dclinearactuators.com/wp-...ors-female.jpg |
you can try using the spade connector on the oem sender, dont see why it would be a problem. goto the website of the manufacturer of your aftermarket gauge and look for the installation instructions and make sure its installed correctly
