second gear grind
could some one tell me what would cause my transmission to grind when it goes into second? It is the only gear that grinds, and it some times doesnt grind if i give it a long to click in.

Sounds like it is the sync-roes, it could probably go for a re-build. I plan to rebuild my tranny when I do a clutch, I have had my 2nd gear grind once or twice during shifting.

Let me guess, you have a W58? (not the R154 that came in turbo mkIII)
2nd gear is always the 1st to go in W58s *shrug* |

Yep, good thing Toyota has those nifty upgraded 2nd gear components available, I just don't want to see the bill for the upgrades, lol. |

bleed your clutch. It could be that your second gear synchro doesn't work as well as the others, therefore it is the only one grinding, but your clutch may still be grabbing slightly when disengage it because of air in the line.
