Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

This is going to throw your entire engine off.
It's not as lite as you seem to making it.

This could cost you a week of tunning if you aren't careful.

I dont see how it would be as hard as you seem to make it. I know how to adjust the TPS to be where it needs to be, its not hard to do. Its not like it can get any worse at this point, the current tps has the entire bottom clip broken off, so its being held on by one screw at the top. All im going to have to do is install the new TPS, adjust it so that it makes idle contact where it needs to, and then set my idle. The problem Im having now is that the TPS isnt making the idle circuit, so the computer reads part throttle all the time. Thats probably why I was running a little lean, and im sure its why my idle was abnormally high.

Basically, I install new TPS, set it, reset my computer, and set my idle. done.

Just the tps being out of allignment and then being timed dude.

When you fix it you'll see. You'll be grinding out code 51's And then something else with all of it will go wrong.

That's cool though. I was just trying to help.

well the tps came in today, and i pulled out the old one, put the new one in and set it by ear live ive done before, fired her up and she runs great. my code 41 is gone, and no, i didnt get a code 51, so i now have no diagnostic codes showing. however, my idle is still a bit too high. it sits between 800-900 when its warmed up with the screw all the way in now.

i thought it might be the ISC, but the thing is that when i turn my AC on, it adjusts to compensate, like, my idle goes up for a second then right back to where it should be and stays there. basically it keeps my idle the same weather the AC is on or not. that makes me think that it is operating fine, but someone tell me if i'm wrong.

Im starting to suspect a leak in my piping more and more, the car has hardpiping and a beefier intercooler on it, so i suppose one of the connections may be leaking (though i tightened them all myself to make sure it wasnt leaking)

ehh, i guess i just have good luck then. the whole setting the tps by ear thing was just something i learned to do a while back, guess its the same as setting the timing by ear. it works great if you've done it before lol.

anyway, any clues on weather or not i have a bad ISC? ive basically narrowed it down to that or a leak somewhere.

I understand ya.

Well what had happened was the car was idling up to 2k rpms.
I jump throught the usual hoops.

Track it to the dashpot. Order 1 in. I gave 48$ for it.

Hook it up. Everything running fine. I go for a drive and the idle jumps
back up to 2000rpm's And the timing is shot.

I side stepped it while I work on a larger issue with the engine.

I'm working both angles at once on it.
