progressive power steering

I need a new rack and pinion for my 89 na manual. I do not know if it has progressive power steering or not, how do I tell? will there be a electrical connection on the rack itself? if so where? or is it on the steering column, if so where? any help greatly appreciated

MK3 TSRM On-Line

That's the best I can do for you.

well, from the pic, I don't think mine has it (thank got, there's $100 saved) I hope I'm right...

Post some pics and page numbers so we can all see.

Keep thumbing through the tsrm until you are sure that's the gig.

You may end up teaching a few of us something later on.

Theres a thread up somewhere recent that shows my engine bay.

And that's about to change a bit as well.

Other than that.., naw. I have some with the cf hood that
I have yet to put onto the pc.

Coming soon.

if you go to steering in the tsrm, and look toward the bottom where it says w pps, w/o pps. On the steering box(just above where the hardlines connect to the rack) if you have progressive power steering there should be an attachment with an electrical connection, I see no electronics on mine, so I think I'm good to go, without pps, the racks run about 300, with pps, they are 400+...

Where are you getting your rack from?

Do you have pictures of it? Or a link to the site?

no, no pics. I called napa and they asked if I had pps or not, so I'm sure I'll be getting the right one

Gotcha. Thanks.

I have been looking at all of that lately.

My stuff is pretty old stock.
