Any Toyota Dealership should be able to check fuel pressure. If they can't they need to close up shop....HeHehe.
Heres a copy of the TSRM, look under EFI and it will tell you step by step instructions. MK3 TSRM On-Line

First off we need details on the car.
Turbo, non turbo? Is it 3800 every time or around there. Is it under the same throttle condition i.e mashing it or only slowly revving. Does it doo the same in neutral? Have you done a basic diagnostic? How to is in my signature

Does it stutter like it's missing or is it a hard cut? Does it lose power as it's getting to 3800 or is it strong till it gets there?

Sounds an awful lot like fueld cut...
Ifr your stock turbo hits 12psi - the fuel is cut-off until it drops to ten.
This MAY be your issue. The other possibility is lean fuel mix (injectors / fuel pressure)The jerking is pretty severe when fuel cut occurs... Its like keeping the gas floored and turning you ignition key on and off. If this is actually your issue, then your wastegate has probably been shimmed to let the turbo spool higher than 8 pounds. You are a full 25% over the assigned boost range, so that's why it is a pretty earth-shaking cutout. SOLUTION: FCD Fuel Cut Defencer. Watch out if you get one: the wiring diagram that comes with it sucks - look on this and supramania for correct diagrams. This is not a simple upgrade - you need to pull apart the passenger side dash and extract your ECU. It's dark cramped, and a royal pain, but the results are pretty fantastic. I have stock CT-26 turbo and it can and does hold boosts above 20psi now without issues. I have peaked boost at 28.5 psi using an AEM tru-boost guage / solenoid. The car is a lot of fun! I will say that!! Quote:

You did say it's non turbo? No codes? I would test your distibutor. Test the cam sensor and igniter, which should be part of the ditributor assembly. Or just check out the condition of the cap and rotor and wires. If not, check the mass air flow sensor and the throttle position sensor. Test them. Let me know what you come up with.

What is the fuel pressure. Test it at the cold start injector fitting.
Sounds Like your fuel filter is dirty. Change it today. Pessure is pressure. Volume is your troubles.
