Default Water temp gauge dead

Hello

My water temp gauge is not working, just shows minimum temp all the time, Where is the sensor for this? i havent found any info on it.

My car runs really bad, is the ecu using the same sensor as the gauge?

The wires for the temp sensor run across right behind the cam gears. When I last had my valve cover off I had moved the wires and disturbed them, so when I finished and started driving, I would accelerate the temp gauge would drop. So be sure to check the wires as well as the sensor.

I think the only thing the ecu uses the temp sensor for is the warm up cycle.

Hope this helped as well.

Had same problem here. just replacing the sensor solved it for me.

But like he said carful with the wires. Slightest mis-handle will cause it to not work also. ( I had that too, after I replaced the sensor. )

Good thing to check also, check the sender's too had to replace em' too.
