Default 89 Turbo 37k Stock

89 Turbo with 37,000 miles...just bought it...will pick it up on Friday. I had a '82 supra purchased back in '84. I hated it after I got rid of it. Will play with it awhile before I decide on upgrades.

does anybody know about the PEELING around the hatch glass and windshield glass and side window glass? I need to know how to fix the peeling off the chrome metal that surrounds the glass on the hatch and windows. i cannot stand the peeling weather stripping. its ugly.

For the trim its the coating peeling off. only fix is scrape off the peeling and paint them with trim paint. Or just replace them but thats costly like 400-500$ new per window. Or find used ones that r in good shape.

I posted about this yesterday. They're an actual seal so restoring that functionality is important. Also, they're not all available anymore.

This guy on eBay has the rear window trim new. If u look at his eBay store he also had the front, side and corner window trims and also other oem supra parts new. Also there is a online TRD site that sells parts

I wonder if they're actual Toyota parts or if someone's making them again... it would be cool if someone was making the discontinued pieces. A lot of them are still available from the dealer too, but not all of them. I believe the front windshield corners and the quarter window's trim are the most complained about which are apparently no longer available. Always possible my dealer was being lazy but I've seen other complain about these not being available as well as other parts. Oh how often I've wished that Toyota would maintain a website just so you can see if a part is still available. lol. It would be really helpful if someone would put together a list of discontinued or low-stock parts for the MKIII.
