stumped :(
I just recently put a new motor in my 88 turbo supra, the swap went fine and it ran for 2 days afterwards then had a real bad miss, so bad i could not even build up boost with my foot to the floor so i pulled in a parking lot and shut it off. It has not started back up since then about 2 months ago. The wires on my cam sensor are broken on the cam side AND the harness side, so I put them back together the best why i think i can, when i turn the key the motor is turning, im getting spark from my coil packs and i have plenty of fuel, it starts to "cough" but then dies back out, the bottom end is TDC and so is the cam sensor, i have bought a new starter, spark plugs, spark plug wires and a new battery. I am seriously stumped on this one, if anyone has an idea please let me know, also if anyone has a (good) picture of their cam sensor wires that would be very helpful in making sure mine are in the right places.

Just checked mine, the two wires at the bottom of the plug are very similar in colour due to the yellow fading and the white tuning yellow from age. Looking from the front of the engine bay the red is top left and green top right. Not sure if the US supras have different colour wiring , mine is a UK supra.
Ne = Red G1 = Green G- = White G2 = Yellow |
