I Need Help!!!!!!!!!
I got a 1988 supra, The person i got it from said that the rings were gone. when i fire it up oil comes from the spark plug hole when the plug is tight i dont know why,my cousin said i had the wrong plug wires, he says the right ones have a seal type thing to prevent that.
SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT COULD BE WRONG |
Wrong (cousin)
The oil comes from the valve cover gaskets, or the center gasket that runs down the middle, over the spark plugs. When the oil fills up the spark plug hole (around the plug), it will cause a misfire because the spark will ground out . Pull everything out of the way, and replace those gaskets. The dealer is the only one that will have the center one ($38). |

Hi!
The problem is not the cam cover gaskets although they may be loose too-- but leaking cylinder head oil gallery plug o-rings - these are in-line with the plugs on the 7MGTE engine, they have hardened to carbon state and have probably cracked causing the plug hole(s) to fill from the outside.remove the plugs that leak, change the o-rings and that should clear the problem --did on mine!!! |
