Default Hatch Open Warning Light constantly on...

Does anyone know where the sensor is for the car to know the hatch is down? All I can find is the light sensor.

Thanks!

When I say sensor it could be a button or just 2 metal contacts... can't find it by looking at the:
Electronics Parts Catalog

parts catalogue either

Default Hatch Open Warning Light?

Which warning light are you seeing? Can you post a pic? The reason I ask, is I was getting an amber warning light whcih I thought it was open hatch warning light. But, it turned out to be the illumination warning light. The problem was corroded grounds on the tail lights.

Try removing the tail light assemblies. They just snap out. Removing the ground wires, cleaning the contacts and reassembling.

So... the idiot owner before me decided it would be a good idea to use the supra to tow a uhaul trailer, I took off the back left panel inside the trunk and saw the trailer attachment wires (badly connected) and didn't want to bother unconnecting, and also saw a yellow box that said "Lamp Failure" I unplugged this yellow box and will have no more issues with the warning light, however I have to check the lights every now and then because I no longer have that feature.

EDIT: Just making sure I was clear... to disconnect the system, cut the yellow wire going into the yellow "Lamp Failure" box, DO NOT UNHOOK THE BOX AS THIS WILL MAKE YOUR BRAKE LIGHTS NOT WORK!!!!
